Archaeology's Places and Contemporary Uses: A Publication
A publication collating the work of the 2009 International Workshop "Archaeology's Places and Contemporary Uses" has been published by IUAV Instituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia. The volume, edited by Margherita Vanore, documents proposals for various sites in the Veneto, and contains my essay Archaeology and Public Space which was presented during the workshop.

Dear Mr. Canniffe,
I just discovered your blog and am having a great time exploring the many entries you have made about architecture which I am familiar with and which I am completely new to.
I hope you might be able to comment on the work of Enric Miralles who is a hero of mine. There does not seem to be much perceptive criticism of his work out there and I would love to hear your thoughts.
Best,
Roger Broome
Dear Roger
I saw Miralles give a lecture in Manchester about 20 years ago and was impressed by the complexity of his work. It often has a rather surreal quality which can make it seem a little too personal in its meaning but certainly give a lot for the imagination to explore.
Thanks for your comment about the blog.
Eamonn
